Check out his video introduction below and read on to learn from him what this series will teach you!

1 What Topic Does This Course Cover?

The course covers the essential SAP processes and configuration in sales and distribution for SAP S/4HANA. We will discuss the intricacies of the organizational structure and the master data objects in SAP S/4HANA that drive the most relevant functions in sales.

Attendees will learn to configure basic and cross-functional settings. We will dive into ATP, sales processing, shipping, and billing processes. We will also talk about some of the key changes in functionality between SAP ECC 6 and SAP S/4HANA in regards to SD, and talk about how to implement useful system enhancements for sales order, delivery, and billing processing.

2 Will This Course Give Me Technical Skills or Foundational Knowledge (Or Both)?

It will give you both. In the course we’ll cover many in-depth sales configuration and business processes found within the SAP S/4HANA system. For this reason, this course can be a good starting point for those of you just getting introduced to sales processes in SAP. For example, you might be an IT consultant whose company is upgrading to SAP S/4HANA, or even a recent graduate looking to begin a career in SAP.

This series is also a good guide for more experienced consultants to achieve a few things.

First, this series can refresh your knowledge in the wider sales-specific scope of SAP S/4HANA. Perhaps, after working many years in one organization or industry sector, some aspects of the sales scope are not regularly used, and you want to refresh your memory and knowledge in these areas.

Second, the series is an excellent jumping-off point for SAP ECC 6 consultants who want to upskill themselves to the next-generation SAP ERP system, SAP S/4HANA.

Finally, for those of you who may be thinking about taking the certification exam for SAP S/4HANA Sales, this course will guide you through the required knowledge and expertise for passing the certification exam and become a certified SAP S/4HANA Sales consultant.

3 What Will I Specifically Learn in This Series?

In this five-day series, you will gain comprehensive knowledge of the sales and distribution module within SAP S/4HANA. We will delve into key topics such as:

  • Configuring sales orders and contracts: You’ll get information on how to configure sales orders and contracts in the SAP S/4HANA system.
  • Outputs and the condition technique: You’ll understand how to customize outputs like invoices and delivery notes, and master the condition technique for pricing and other key functionalities.
  • System adaptations via routines: You’ll see how to adapt the system to specific business needs using custom routines.
  • ATP: You’ll gain insights into ensuring product availability and meeting customer expectations.
  • Pricing processes: You’ll learn to configure pricing strategies tailored to your business requirements.
  • Shipping and billing processes: You’ll discover the different processes you’ll use for shipping and billing.

I will deliver live demos in an SAP S/4HANA 2023 sandbox, showcasing the latest SD features in real time.

By the end of the course, you will have the skills needed to configure and adapt the system to support your organization's sales and distribution needs. This knowledge will empower you to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

4 What Should I Already Know Before Taking This Series?

Well, it depends. This is a five-day series, and you can attend day 1 even without prior SAP SD experience. Throughout the course, we will gradually build your knowledge of SAP SD. By the time we reach day 5 and delve into topics like simplifications and enhancements, everything will be well-structured and understandable, even for participants with no prior exposure to SAP SD.

With that said, I do not recommend jumping directly into the later days unless you are an experienced SAP SD consultant.

5 What Are Your Qualifications to Teach This Course?

I bring over 18 years of extensive SAP experience, combining both functional and technical expertise. Since 2017, I’ve specialized in SAP S/4HANA, earning four certifications in SAP S/4HANA Sales. My background includes not only working as a functional consultant but also as a developer, which has given me a solid foundation in ABAP coding.

Additionally, I co-authored a book with SAP PRESS that guides professionals through the SAP S/4HANA certification process in sales.

With my experience, I am confident I can guide you through the complexities of SAP S/4HANA Sales and ensure a practical, hands-on learning experience.
