This blog post explains how to check financial postings and costing results from transfer pricing in SAP S/4HANA.
The focus here is using SAP Fiori as a tool to analyze the three parallel valuations: legal, group, and profit center. In particular, we will look at how to leverage two SAP Fiori apps: Journal Entry Analyzer and Material Value Chain Analysis.
Journal Entry Analyzer (SAP Fiori app ID F0956) is for many controllers the go-to app for analyzing financial postings. You can select and include accounting ledger, currency types, and many reporting dimensions in a report layout. This app can be a suitable reporting tool for all three valuations. The figure below shows an example of a financial result from a multi-valuation ledger, as follows:
1: Legal valuation (valuation clearing is not applicable)
2: Group valuation (revenue and COGS are reported without transfer price markups)
3: Profit center valuation (profit center internal accounts are posted only here)
With this app, you can compare the differing viewpoints of financial results in legal, group, and profit center valuations, especially for revenue and material cost recognition. More than one company code and profit center can be reported side by side.
A material value chain is a string of relationships between a material back to its sources. There are two SAP Fiori apps available for analyzing a material value chain:
Both apps provide a bird’s-eye visualization of a material value chain.
Using the Display Material Value Chain (Estimated Costs) app shown in the next figure, you can analyze the value chains of cost estimates based on costing variants. This means the value chain for legal, group, and profit center cost estimates can be valuated separately. This app has the following elements:
Note: Only a group cost estimate includes the complete value chain, down to all issuing company codes and issuing profit centers.
With the Display Material Value Chain (Actual Costs) app, you can analyze the value chain of a material’s actual cost. Since you can select currency type and valuation view, the complete value chain for actual cost in all three valuations can be traced back to all company codes and profit centers. As shown in the final figure, this app has the following elements:
