SAP provides a standard interface for transferring cost centers from an SAP ERP system to Employee Central.
This interface can be used for a one-time transfer of information as well as for a cyclic update of the data. This interface is based on an add-on called ODTFINCC, which must be installed in the SAP source environment. The Cloud Integration package ERPtoSuccessFactorsEmployeeCentralCostCenter is required to transfer the data to Employee
The first part for the deployment includes the configuration of the architecture components as well as the installation of the add-on, the Cloud Integration Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates in the SAP system and the Cloud Integration package. A technical user with the necessary permissions must be provided on the Employee Central side. On the SAP side, further configurations are required, namely, the following:
- Activate change pointer for message ODTF_CCTR (Transaction BD61)
- Create logical system for Employee Central (Transaction SALE)
- Maintain distribution model for message ODTF_CCTR (Transaction BD64)
- Edit RFC destination for Employee Central (Transaction SM59)
- Create logical port (XML/HTTP) for Employee Central (Transaction WE21)
- Create partner profile for Employee Central (Transaction WE20)
Once you have performed these tasks, a transfer of cost centers from SAP ERP to Employee Central can take place. For this purpose, report ODTF_REPL_CC must be executed via Transaction SE38.
The below figure shows the SAP report, ODTF_REPL_CC. Inside the black frame, notice that it is also possible to output the result of this report to a CSV file. The file generated via this configuration can be used for uploads to Employee Central.
This integration process can also be configured to meet various data mapping and transformation requirements, such as mapping cost center codes and names from an SAP ERP system into the Employee Central data model. In addition to cost center data, the integration can also be used to transfer other related data, such as cost center managers and employees assigned to cost centers.
